Today’s polyolefin moldable bead foams can be broken down into 2 primary categories; PP Based and Polyethylene (PE) based. For PP, these range from a simple homopolymer to a random copolymer (designed with a very specific melt-point), or a more complex metallocene random copolymer. For PE, these range from a simple Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE) homopolymer to a cross-linked Linear Low Density Polyethylene (LLDPE) through a more complex metallocene LLDPE.
